World Suicide Prevention Day is an opportunity to remember that we urgently need to take action to prevent suicide.
JEVI is inviting the public to gather in large numbers and walk around Lac des Nations to support, together, people who need or have needed assistance, their families, and people who are grieving a suicide.
The walk will start at Armand-Nadeau Pavilion around 6:30 PM after some words of welcome from Tania Boilar, JEVI’s Executive Director.
There will be a short stop at the Marché de la gar, where a booth with information about suicide myths and realities will be facilitated by Sylvie Potvin, JEVI trainer. Awareness-building sentences will also be posted along the route to assist with discussions.
This walk is intended to be a unifying, comforting, moving event. Let’s all be agents of change to prevent suicide!
Anybody who joins us for this walk will enjoy a stunning view over Lac des Nations while discussing realities!
Because it feels good to get together to talk about it!
*Bring your refillable bottles—there will be water stations for you!
*This event will take place rain or shine.
